My takeout meal came with a complimentary staple hidden in the food. Luckily, I saw it on my fork before I ate it. The manager claimed staples are necessary to close the boxes, though I've never seen styrofoam containers in need of staples to keep the food inside. They refused to refund any part of my purchase. I would recommend not eating here for your own safety.

I will preface this by saying that I generally think a lot of Yelp reviews are ridiculous and whiny and over the top about nothing [like the genius who was hating on Dante's frozen yogurt for not having cold enough frozen yogurt when it was 100 degrees outside], but I finally decided to create a Yelp account JUST SO I COULD RATE THIS PLACE ONE STAR.The food was decent (ordered sesame chicken and wonton soup). HOWEVER. My delivery experience was *ridiculous*. The delivery initially came on time, but the driver forgot my two cans of soda, which I discovered after I opened everything when I came back upstairs to my apartment. I also realized that I was given only one rather than the two teriyaki chicken sticks advertised as part of the appetizer in the lunch combo. I decided to just not make a big deal out of one chicken stick, but I wanted my beverages. I called back to let them know and the woman on the phone said the driver would swing by to "drop them off". I said that was fine and assumed I'd be called when he came back.40 minutes went by with no call. I called again and she said he just dropped them off outside. Really? He just left them there somewhere in the lobby and didn't even call? So I said ok, thanks, and went to check in the lobby. I even looked on the steps outside! But no, there was no soda. I came back inside to call her back, at which point I was frustrated and she was increasingly unfriendly. She said she would call the driver, at which point I asked her if she could just take it off my bill because I needed to go somewhere and didn't have time to wait around further. She said she'd just give me free soda with my next order - ha, as if there will be a next order! - and I reiterated that I would just like it taken off *this* order. She didn't like this idea and said she would call the driver and then "make a decision" about what to do. WTF? So I kept telling her I just wanted it off my bill, I needed to leave, etc. and she very kurtly said ok but kept saying something about the driver. So I don't even know how this will ultimately end.... better keep tabs on my debit card records since at this point it's the principle of the thing and this business is run ridiculously inefficiently.

This place is pretty good.Got crab rangoon and sesame chicken which came with fried rice for like $15. First off, the portions were huge; I made three meals out of it. The sesame chicken was super tasty. The fried rice could have used a little umpff. The crab rangoons were super disappointing: they buried them under the fried rice so they were soggy, gross!I'll probably go back there at some point.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Ordered from an online delivery site, then read the yelp reviews and changed my mind. The delivery site was nice enough to cancel the order for me but I then proceeded to get 6 hang-up calls within ten minutes from what I assume was this restaurant. It's midnight, and I'm from New York, I don't know who else would be calling me from an unrecognized Massachusetts number at this hour. It was extremely disturbing, I actually called 911, but apparently they can't do anything unless they actually threaten me.

I've only gotten takeout from here, and have been very happy with with all my food. Their spicy Sichuan beef noodle soup is EXCELLENT. It was extremely flavorful and had a great spicy kick, and had a good amount of beef. Their combo meals are a great deal, you get a good sized soup, app, entree and rice for ~$6. The Mapo tofu was great, full of spicy complex flavor. Cheap and delicious! I love having them near my apartment, delicious takeout whenever I'm too lazy to cook!

Alright, you know when there are more one star reviews than anything else, it's a bad place. LISTEN to us. I read and I didn't listen because we wanted delivery and were out of other options. DONT EAT HERE. Save yourself. The good:--dumplings...we ordered chicken, shrimp, pork dumplings...Didn't taste the shrimp at all, but they tasted good. The bad:--egg drop soup...I know it's supposed to be slimy. I love egg drop soup. But this was slimy. And then I had a weird little pinkish piece of egg that when I bit into it, I knew it wasn't right.--General Tsos chicken...just subparThe ugly:--Beef and broccoli...just not even a good flavor on the sauce. Plus the meat was shady. Just chewy and quite a few bites with gristle.--The crab rangoons. I have LITERALLY never before in my life said something was inedible. These were inedible. They were SO incredibly salty I felt nauseous after taking a bite. Well two bites. I wanted to give it a second try. HORRIBLE.--The prices. It's just rude to charge me $29 for the above food (and then not have enough small bills at the door to give me enough change so I had to tip more than I wanted...didn't feel like being mean and giving him no tip) when it's so horrible.Just find somewhere else. I don't know of a good cheap reliable Chinese delivery place in Cambridge/Central Sq area yet. But when I find one...I'll enjoy it. In the meantime, I will try not to think about this experience again.

I ordered the general tsaos dinner. The hot and sour soup was gooey and goopy, as was the sauce on the chicken. The crab Rangoon was undercooked. Basically it all was gross.Oh and I bought a red bull with my meal but after I payed she said she made a mistake and charged me a dollar less than it was supposed to be so she switched it with some weird Chinese chocolate energy drink.Biggest waste of ten dollars. The gooeyness of everything literally made me sick to my stomach- needless to say I didn't finish any of it.

I'm eating their food right now. Just ordered from them for the first time because the menu was lying here and I didn't know what to eat. It was surprisingly good comparing to other Chinese take-outs I ordered from Allston/Brighton area. I ordered the crab rangoons, beef with oyster sauce and pork fried rice. Crab rangoon's filling was good. The sweet sauce is not overly sweet like some places. The beef was really tender with good flavor. The fried rice also has a good flavor not tasteless like some other places where you have to put a ton of soy sauce in it.I'll try their other dishes in the future. Now I know where to order from if I feel like Chinese food.

This place has decent quality food, with epic proportions! I recommend the combo dishes because it's super cheap and you get a free appetizer and soup.To top things off, if you're a student, they give you an extra 10% off. But if you're not a student, they have a menu online and you can get 10% if you order online.

I called at noon from work and the guy said delivery driver comes at 1pm, so my food would arrive at 1:20pm. I said that was fine, but my food didn't arrive to me until 1:55pm. I was pissed.Had the szechuan style fried fish. The sauce was decent, but it still had the sandy texture from the batter. That is, all I could taste was flour and I dont know what kind of fish they use, but it was really mushy and didnt fall a part like all the other fish I've ever had.It came with a vegetable roll that had only one vegetable in it: taro. Kind of surprising and it was just okay. They probably use cheap wrappers.

We tried this place after new management just took over and were so happy we found Chinese takeout comparable to what we were accustomed to in NYC. I think they switched cooks because after a couple months the food is simply TERRIBLE. How do you get fried rice and wonton wrong!? Grisly chicken!? I don't believe the cook is a real cook of Chinese food but merely a guy from China cooking. We will not be ordering again.

note that this place had been closed, and has reopened under new management. reviews before mid-2011 refer to the old place. maybe it's time to refresh this restaurant's yelp profile? (**citation & details below)---just tried UF for the first time. it's a take-out and delivery joint with a bunch of basic tables and a bar-stool counter if you want to eat inside. thumbs up for providing spoonable hot chili oil and bottles of dark vinegar at each table. dude at the counter was very friendly, and brought the soup to where i sat. i'm rating this purely as a take-out place, though, since they're not set up for table service. it's all plastic utensils and styrofoam containers; even if you eat there.couldn't read the special handwritten chinese menu posters, but it seems clear that fluent chinese customers have a different experience here. the english menu is a hybrid of americanized chinese and more authentic dishes. dumplings are touted as a specialty.the $5.50-$6.50 'all day lunch/dinner special' combo meals turn out to be a *huge* amount of food. one combo feeds two people quite well. the soup portion was more than a mugful - larger than i would have expected with a combo meal.the ma po tofu was certainly one of the few best i've ever had in the boston area, including chinatown, and years of using this dish as my yardstick. theirs was really surprising. complex seasonings, excellent and truly unique flavor. finally! i will be back for it.i'll also be back for the egg drop soup. it was the simple classic style, nothing but broth and egg. comparable to my favorites in the area, very satisfying. flavor was subtle and a bit peppery, and came garnished with scallions.house fried rice is good.americanized deep-fried egg roll... got it because it was free. surrendered to boyfriend.amazing value and flavor for the money. worth a second visit!(**)------Unique Chinese Food in Allston ReopensMonday, January 16, 2012, by Aaron KaganAccording to a post on Chowhound, Unique Chinese Food in Allston has reopened under new management with a slightly revamped menu. The post claims that jian bing (Beijing crepes) are no longer available and the new ownership suggests more Shanghai style cuisine as opposed to the Northern Chinese-leaning menu of old. However the restaurant is "still not really what you'd call heated." Unique Chinese had closed in the second half of 2011.CH post: http://chowhound.chow.co…source: http://boston.eater.com/…

This place is BAD!!!! They will rip you offI placed a pick up order from there on 2/19/12 at 8:55pmWhen I went there to pick it up at 9:15pm I gave they cashier a 20 dollar bill for a $6.15 order. He gave me back $3.85. When I said I gave him a $20 he said no I didn't and opened up the drawer and said see you gave me $10. Since the only bill I had on me was a $20 I knew I gave him a $20. I tried to talk to him and explain it but he insisted it was a $10 and wouldn't do anything about it.The next 2 shocks were when I got home. Firstly how little food was actually in the twice cooked pork combo. Most places give you alot of fried rice in a combo and less of the actual food. this combo was little rice and even less of the entree. Plus there were only about 6 small pieces of pork in the Twice Cooked Pork and I had to search for it. Being that this was a pork dish I would have expected easy to find.Needless to say I was not at all happy with them

Overall, this dining experience was a positive one. I bought szechuan vegetables for take-out, the meal was prepared in under ten minutes. When I opened it up at home, I was pleasantly surprised to find red bell pepper and celery ...?
